Markus McFolling is originally from Seaside, California. He moved to Ohio in 2008 as a highly regarded collegiate athlete. However, after only two years as a professional, Markus suffered a career-ending shoulder injury that required surgery after surgery, leading him down a dark path of drug addiction. After losing his family and everything he knew and loved, Markus was inspired to make a full recovery and turn his life around. By God’s grace, after rehabilitation and graduation from Adult and Teen Challenge Ohio Valley, his family was restored and Markus pursued his dream and life-long calling to make a difference by founding Reach1 (Reconciling Every Abandoned Child Home).  Markus now travels the world speaking at schools, conferences, festivals, churches, community events, and camps to tell others the story of how he overcame adversity. Markus currently lives in Canton, OH, with his wife, Chelsea, and two daughters, Averie and Dakota.
