Frequently Asked Questions

What should i wear?

Church on the Beach is a very informal gathering (people come in flip-flops, shorts, swim trunks, etc.)

What should i bring?

Free coffee is provided. Bring things you would normally bring to the beach, like sunscreen, water, chairs, blankets, toys for children, etc.

Is there child care available?

There is no “child care” but there is plenty of room for little ones to play near you in the sand during the service and it will not be a bother whatsoever. It is informal family-style worship. All are welcome!

Are there restrooms?

Yes. Public restrooms are about 150-200 yards from where we meet on the beach.

how long is the service?

The service begins promptly at 8:45am and usually ends just before 10am.

Is There A Cost to Attend?

No. Church on the Beach begins at 8:45 am and there is no charge to attend. What’s more, please note that we do not receive an offering during the service. However, please be aware that the Town of Fort Erie charges for access to the beach after 9:00 am. If you plan to attend the service only, please arrive on time and exit the Beach immediately following the service. However, if you are late (arrive after 9am), or plan to stay and enjoy the Beach please pay the $5/person access fee.  It is our desire to be good citizens and assist the town of Fort Erie in maintaining the beauty of Crystal Beach!

what if the weather is bad?

We only cancel due to severe weather (active lightening, high winds, hail, etc).  Since 2011, we have only had to cancel 2 (of nearly 90) services due to weather. We proceed in light rain or drizzle. There are more than 100 large Beach umbrellas you are free to use (or bring your own!)  So please don’t let a little rain or drizzle keep you from attending! To find out for sure, just visit us on Facebook!  If there is a threat if inclement weather, we will do our best to let you know by 7:30am if Church on the Beach is on …and it almost always is!
