Lisa Kratz Thomas’ journey is both extraordinary and miraculous. From life as a drug-addicted prostitute living on the streets of Washington, D.C., to becoming a member of a Senate Subcommittee on prisoner reentry in Virginia, by God’s grace, Lisa has literally seen God bring her “from the crack house to the state house!”

Lisa has overcome emotional abuse, alcohol and drug addiction, prostitution, incarceration, and the pain of a past abortion. A former radio talk show host and author of three books, Lisa has worked with the Virginia Department of Corrections, leading reentry seminars statewide. She speaks nationwide to correctional institutions, corporations, churches, universities, and nonprofits.

Lisa’s life embodies 2 Corinthians 5:17: “If anyone be in Christ, they are a new creation! The old things have passed away, and all things have become new!” Lisa has been married for almost 35 years and lives in Richmond, VA, with her husband, Tom, their two adult children, and an expectant daughter-in-law.
