For Pastor Bobby Dean, growing up was not easy. He was born to a full-blood Seneca and Cayuga mother and an Irish father. As a so-called “half breed,” Bobby experienced complete rejection “from the white world and the native world.” That rejection turned to rejoicing after accepting Jesus Christ at the age of 16 while listening to a gospel presentation on the Seminole Reservation in Florida. After getting married, Bobby and his wife, Nancy, attended Bible College together. For the past 44 years, Bobby has been the pastor at Tonawanda Indian Baptist Church on the Tonawanda Seneca Nation. For the last 15 years he has also pastored High Point Community Church in Corfu, NY. Bobby is fully convinced God uniquely designed him to reach the lost, regardless of race or heritage. Bobby and Nancy consider themselves incredibly blessed with four adult children and four beautiful grandchildren.
